Madness
Well it’s certainly been an eventful few days for me, spent friday until sunday up at Garron Tower on the far edges of the north coast. It’s for level 1 mountain leader, which is basically; can you work a compass? Can you work a map? Can you tell kids off? Well done you passed! >_> unfortunatley I have to jump through this hoop to do my level two and the summer leader etc. eeeuuughh….
However one thing really sent my stress levels into orbit, I had a concert (I was actually playing) at 7:30pm on the saturday in the whitla hall, and everything seemed to line up to ensure my failure. First; my leaders both forgot I really need to be off the mountain BEFORE 6 (it’s and hour and a quarter trip to belfast and I needed parking). Then after getting off the mountains at 6:15 The electronic gate to let me out of where we were staying broke… I nearly died. I had to reverse back in and run and get somebody to fix it. Cue me leaving at 6:25, driving like a man possesed taking 1 hour to get to belfast and parked. 7:30 I run into the hall, run past two other orchestra’s and onto the stage just as we were being announced, with a not so delicate ‘Fuck’ I sat down. No tie, no belt, no tied shoelaces, clarinet still in box. with 20 seconds to spare I made it, Epic win!
This should be made into a film, it’d be an 18 mind with all the swearing I did whilst driving and because I tried to kill a runner. BAFTA’s all the way!
